I used to think that waiting for Christmas was tough. Turns out that it is nothing compared to waiting for an overdue baby. My due date was December 18th, and here it is Christmas Eve and still no baby. Tomorrow marks week 41. Ugh. All the anticipation for nine long months only to have to wait even longer, not knowing when it's going to happen. It's torture. I just want our little Christmas baby to get here already, though at this rate, we might be looking more at a New Year baby (but hopefully not!).

My growing baby belly |
Still, baby or no baby, I have been enjoying getting ready for Christmas. I think my version of "nesting" is not so much a lot of cleaning as excessive baking and crafting. I've been busy decorating our little apartment and making gifts for my family and friends. I got a lot done early in the month, thinking I would have a baby to take care of by the time it was closer to the holiday, so now it's just a lot of waiting and taking a little time off with just me and my husband.

Stockings I knit for my little family's first Christmas |
Whether our little girl arrives in time for this Christmas or not, I look forward to the years ahead of celebrating with her and creating new holiday traditions with my own family.
I hope you all have a Merry Christmas!
